We know people like us for our jewelry. We also know that people only really know us for our jewelry… but, hopefully, they stick around because of something a little more than that. Perhaps for the way we made them feel, or a connection that we’ve made through DMs and emails. We really do care that you need your package for your best friend’s wedding. We really do write handwritten notes to your loved ones and wrap their gifts with care. Quite simply, our biggest passion is to make you happy.
We love to know our customers — We think about them and how they live their lives and what they need to make it a little more… beautiful. How they want to upgrade a basic t-shirt and jeans kind of outfit or how they want to travel and bring some unique flair to their vacation looks. Who they are buying gifts for and how we can make that gift meaningful and special. We think about how their package will arrive and what we want them to experience when they open their first THATCH delivery.
But now ? We want you to know us a little bit better. We feel it's time to do a proper introduction. After all, we think our team is the very best thing about us. We are a handful of women, from all different parts of the country (actually the world), and we mindfully and creatively do all these things together. We don't have a PR agency, or a showroom. We don't have any outside agency at all. These are the people that keep THATCH going every single day and the faces that bring you that special gray box on your doorstep. LAURA LAING | Designer & Production Director
Trained in jewelry design and metalsmithing, Laura takes the design concepts and brings it to life in the final collections. From initial sketch to the end product, she has her meticulous eye on each step of the process. Her passion for art, design, and craftsmanship stems from her artistic father who nourished her creativity and encouraged her love to create things by hand. She believes jewelry is wearable art and a self expression - unique to every individual. With her rescue pups, Cassie and Luke, by her side, she spends each day fully submerged in her craft.
AMY OLSON GOIN | Sales Director
Amy is our brand and industry expert. She loves forming strong connections and curating the best assortments for our retailers. She knows the ins and outs of the industry and adds a bit of her creative touch to every aspect of the business, from product design to collaborations, as well as overseeing our marketing efforts. After a decade of hustling the showroom scene in NYC, Amy and her husband moved to California to enjoy a more balanced, sunny lifestyle. She has helped grow THATCH to be the recognizable brand that it is to both retailers and customers alike. Her drive and silly spirit keep us moving onward and upward.
KRISTY SPICUZZA | Operations, Client Services, Website & Photography
With a keen eye for detail, Kristy makes sure things run smoothly and our customers are always happy. As our in-house lifestyle photographer and web manager, she not only creates some of the amazing imagery that embodies the THATCH brand, but also keeps our website design fresh and on point. She studied photography and spent many years in the San Francisco service industry before joining the team in San Diego. Her skills found the perfect home at THATCH—she is our highly organized perfectionist.
NATALIE BAY | Marketing, Social Media & PR
Bringing a fresh perspective and big vision, Natalie excels in driving brand growth. Always resourceful and optimistic, on any given day you can find her creating compelling social media content, managing influencer relationships and press opportunities, and leading our social media ad strategy. A valuable addition to our marketing team, Natalie approaches each project with positivity and dedication.
SARAH PINSKY | Fulfillment & Studio Manager
Sarah is our thoughtful and meticulous fulfillment manager. When it comes to our physical brand experience, Sarah leads the charge, ensuring no small detail is forgotten. The meaningful unboxing you’ve come to expect has Sarah written all over it! Whether she’s keeping the studio running without a hitch or packaging each order with care, she brings the perfect mix of pragmatism and composure to the team.
ANNA KADYCHKINA | Email Marketing & Photography
An expert in email marketing, advertising and Shopify, Anna excels in developing strategies that drive engagement and allow us to connect with our customers. She also helps to capture the essence of THATCH with her beautiful video and still photography. Outside of work, Anna is passionate about exploring the outdoors; finding inspiration in art and nature which fuels her creativity and drive in the marketing world.
