The Story Behind Wood

Bag charms have been on our design wishlist for a while. The idea has always been to create a modular collection. We want your pieces to go further, like a good capsule wardrobe. While we are known for gemstones, we knew early on they would be too delicate for bags. So the question became: how do we create the most versatile charm we have ever made? Something that could go from your bag to your necklace, your cord, your choker, your belt, or wherever you feel inspired to add something fun. Something durable but still organic and beautiful.

We wanted a new material, something unexpected, and wood found us at exactly the right time.

Our collections often start from nature. Or a feeling. Or when we finally carve out time to get playful and creative in the studio. We will forever be inspired by the California coastline that surrounds us: the beach, the water, the sunshine. But this collection came from somewhere quieter. More grounded. This one was born from the woods. The rich browns, the natural textures, the warmth of wood against gold. The contrast of natural wood with a touch of CZ sparkle. 

A little earthy, a little unexpected, but still very much THATCH.

Then came the fun part, bringing our classic silhouettes to this new material. The heart. The fish. The shell. The shapes that have become recognizably THATCH. Shapes we were all dying to have on our bags, our cords, our chokers, and our long chains.

A bag charm by day. A cool pendant by night. A charm truly meant to be worn anywhere.

We don’t want to toot our own horn, but we really think we are onto something here. Is this the first of its kind? We honestly don’t know. What we do know is that we are excited, we are in love, and we cannot wait to see where they take you…
